Set on 220 acres of arable land in Nyah West Victoria. Arahura Farm is owned and operated by Tony & Jennie Croft. Farming has been in the family for generations, originating from a sheep property in New Zealand. The couple established an irrigation design company and after living in suburbia for years felt the call of the land and purchased a 60 acre vineyard in Nyah West, Victoria. Using the name handed down from Tony’s parents, “Arahura Farms” was reborn.
Arahura Farms initially started to supply top quality organic dried sultanas, but in 2003 they were asked if they could diversify to organic carrots. As the demand for more organic veggies grew, the vines were progressively removed. The farm has now grown to be one of Australia’s largest organic producers, supplying all major markets and retailers with organic carrots, beetroots, onions, cos lettuce and cabbages grown seasonally.
Tony and Jennie have the philosophy that food is for living and nutrition is for life, so the decision to continue to farm organic produce was easy. The land is 100% certified organic with the ACO (Australian Certified Organic) and they are passionate about sustainability and best farming practices. From humble beginnings, the farm now employs 65 permanent and casual staff.
